The Very Annoying Caterpillar Who Is Eating My Tomatoes

Eric Carle makes caterpillars seem much more charming than they really are.

I Declare This "The Summer Of Badassery"

I have decided that the time is ripe for me to get all badass with my little life.  Certain areas have been neglected or avoided or half-assed. I am done with that. I am now going full ass.

For starters, I just walked my had-it-up-to-here mommy self out the front door and dealt with a neighborhood bully situation. I seem to have a lot more nerve when my children are involved. The situation was not ideally resolved, but I think it has been acknowledged that I am not putting up with any more shenanigans.

Other items on my "Summer of Badassery" list:

  • My picky daughter will now be eating what the rest of us eat. She will eat tacos. She will eat asparagus. She might even be eating Thai food by the end of the summer, depending on how my badassery holds out.
  • I will buy myself new underwear. It will be pretty but comfortable.  The other day, I realized that my "new" panties are four years old. New Panties, away!!!
  • I am going to find a real live human babysitter so that Jason and I can go out to the movies together.  I might even wear lipstick.
  • I am going to start querying some literary agents.  This is scary to me.  But all they can say is no.
  • I will get the Miley Cyrus song, "Party In The USA" out of my head.  Even worse, it is the Kidz Bop version.  It must leave.  No more hands up.  No more playing my song.  The butterflies must permanently fly away.
  •  I am going to finally blog about Noah's adoption story, due to repeated requests.
  • I am going to resist the urge to get another cat.

Let the Badassery begin!

Falling In Love

Hello again!

I know, I know....

You have a boatload of nerve, Ellen.  Showing up here, all la-dee-da and pretending that you have not been neglecting this blog horrendously.

I promise that I have a good reason.  I have been a little busy.

The truth is that I was busy falling in love with a new man.

I love him fiercely.

He is charming, moody, kissable and has a head full of fuzzy.

Jason knows of my love affair and is fine with it, because he is in love with the same dude.

Here he is:

Noah Matkowski, born and adopted last July.

He is my sweet poo.  My cutie patootie.  My woobie schnoobie.

God made me wait awhile between the first and the second, but it was worth every tear and prayer.  I am really really blessed.
